Amazing

I was so moved today when I saw that my longest, dearest friend donated to the LLS. I've been down b/c the fundraising hasn't gone so great, but to see people who are so generous is amazing. I'm neck deep in books (my last summer project is due tomorrow and it's a doozie) and I was thinking that I wouldn't go to my workout, but knowing so many people believe in me makes me so motivated. So, I'm gonna change into my my butt looks big stretch pants and tennis shoes so that I can get abused by Athletic Republic again. LOL

Lucky nuber SEVEN

School has kept me so incredibly busy this week. Today is my 45 minute run. I wonder how far I'll get in 45 minutes? My shins hurt like hell. The roller helps, but now I'm all bruised. Matt says it's my leprosy. *He's dumb.* I have TWO projects left. I can knock those out by Wednesday night. I don't have much choice since they're due Thursday (LOL). Off to class! ugh...off to class.

How is this possible?

My body is about to fall apart. I went to cross train and now I can't move a muscle. I'm not sure how I'm going to run 6 miles tomorrow. I'll figure it out, but man am I sore. We run at Landa Park. I'm using my fluid belt tomorrow. I'm not sure I'll like it, but I'll give it a shot. I'm actually thinking more along the lines of a camel back, but I hear it adds weight to your running. Wish me luck!

Is it breakable?

Is it possible for shins to break clear in half? If so, I think mine are on the verge if doing it. I had really great runs over the last few days. Five miles on Saturday, four miles on Tuesday and I had a great cross training session at Athletic Republic in New Braunfels. Didn't know this, but my foot doctor (Dr. Urteaga) owns that place. It was great to see him. I had to leave the session early b/c I have to finish writing my science curriculum for grad school. It's due tomorrow and what am I doing? blogging :-)
Well, I guess I'd better get to work. I bet I crank this out in an hour! (wishful thinking)

I'm BAAAAAAACK!

After a three week doctor's ordered break, I went for a job on the treadmill. My shins don't despise me, but they don't love me either. I'll have to keep icing down my shins to stay healthy and NEVER do "boxes" again! I was really surprised at how well I ran and how far I got. I ran for about 30 minutes and ran 2.11 miles @ an 11' mile. Tomorrow is another training day where we'll cross train at URun in New Braunfels. I'll specifically ask them how to stretch my shins for running. After much consideration, I don't think I'll be able to run the full marathon. I think I can only run the half, but I'll continue to train for the full just in case I can pull it off. I hope I can. I've got my heart set on it. Wish me luck (not that there's anyone reading my blog). LOL

I think I'm ready...

After two weeks of not running, icing my shins and taking it easy, I've decided that I'm ready to run again. I'm going to get my cardio up over the next week by swimming everyday and then get back on my feet next Saturday. I can't WAIT!!! Wish me luck!
